While diving in Maui with Jean-Michel Cousteau, a mother Humpback whale and her newborn calf swan up next to me, less than four-feet away. The baby still had fetal folds on its flippers from being tucked up in the womb. Both baby and I quivered with delight. Calm and steady, mom looked at me with the eyes of an ancient master. Here is her wondrous baby.
