Artist's Comments:
This was my first sketch using oil pastels, a medium that offers brilliant color without the fumes and messy cleanup of oil paints. Carving back with an Xacto knife adds definition. I can finish a picture much faster than with watercolors. For all these reasons, I got hooked!
